Olympic park is the largest sports venue for this summer's Beijing Olympics. 17 stadiums will host 15 of the Olympic events. The opening ceremonies will be held in the park. So let's take a look at the park, the public area in particular.

The public area of Olympic park, the area outside the stadiums, spans 12 square kilometers. North of the major facility, the so-called Bird's Nest, is a Chinese style garden. There are serene courtyards, installation arts and fish ponds.
The subway stops nearby. As visitors step from the station, the emerge into a place where they are immediately surrounded by authentic Chinese flavor. Seventeen bus lines from all directions arrive here.
A theater in the north of the park, is for cultural performances during the "Olympic evenings."
During the games, free buses will shuttle between the stadiums inside the park, so that spectators may move easily from one event to another.
The Olympic park officially opens August 8th - the day of the Games' opening ceremony. Ticket holders for the opening ceremony will be able to tour the park before entering the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium, for the grand event.
