This hostel in Chongqing Municipality had its best business during this National Day Golden Week. Service, not luxury, is what young travellers want.
A traveler from Xi'an said, "The price of hostel like this one is fair and its furnishings are good enough for me. It's convenient to live here because it's close to scenic spots."
Some guests even become service staff because of the hostel's relaxed, open atmosphere.
Another traveler said, "The place is for everyone. I think we can all make some efforts here and help each other."
The price for a bed rises by 20 percent during the holiday period, but all of them are fully booked.
Not far from Chongqing, the luxury vessels on the Three Gorges are as popular as hostels on land, and a bonus is no price rise. 2 thousand tickets for 14 vessels were sold out long before the holiday.

The civil aviation industry is also making efforts to ease the journey home. No discounts for most popular flights, but better service. Some major airports are offering more guides and shuttle buses between hotels and airport terminals.
