Franz porcelain made for Olympics
Three thousand sets of limited edition Franz porcelain made specially for the Olympics have been unveiled in Beijing. The kick-off event in Beijing, Thursday came with an exhibition of nearly a hundred additional pieces of Franz porcelain.
The beauty of the athletes' movement is frozen in the art of Franz porcelain. The set comprises 29 pieces, depicting Olympic events. The price for a set ranges from 70 to 80 thousand yuan. Three thousand sets were produced for the limited edition.
China is famous for porcelain. Franz porcelain is one of the new products which aims to adopt traditional ways, while bringing innovation to improve the quality even further.
There was a minute of silence at the launch, in respect for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake. Besides the limited edition, two more sets have been produced. One has been donated to help with reconstruction following the earthquake. The other was given to the BOCOG.
