Netherlands beamed in Olympic enthusiasm
The Olympic fanfare is also sounding in Europe, at this summer's open-air concerts. One of Europe's most popular orchestras, the Benny's Big Show Orchestra from the Netherlands, held a China Olympic Year concert. It happened over the weekend, in the square outside city hall in Den Bosch.
The concert began at 1 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. It lasted five hours. The audience swelled to more than 10 thousand including some of the country's most popular TV hosts and actors.
The Chinese ambassador to the Netherlands Zhang Jun and the mayor of Den Bosch, Greet Snijders attended - bringing best wishes for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
The crowds got caught in some rain showers at intervals during the five hour show. But people hung in there to enjoy the program.
Benny's Big Show Orchestra is one of Europe's most active folk troupes. It's been around for fifty years. The group came to China in April, for an Olympic year tour.
